Imaging Services
Outpatient imaging services are available from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Broadlawns Medical Center East Building.
CT scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound tests are scheduled when referred by a physician.

Laboratory
Lab services are available from 8:30 AM- 3:30 PM located on the first floor of the Broadlawns Medical Center East Building or straight in from the main entrance before the elevators. For information call 515-282-2259 or 515-282-2660. In patient services are 24/7 and we are able to perform after hours out patient laboratory services upon request.
Mammography Services
The Mammography Center offers state-of-the-art mammography with 3-D imaging. The Center has been certified by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), and free or low-cost mammograms are available to eligible women. Many insurance plans cover the cost of a mammogram.

Physical Therapy
The physical therapy department is dedicated to restoring function. Physical therapists work with people who have conditions that limit their ability to move and perform the activities they need to do. Each patient is examined and a treatment plan is developed using techniques to increase strength, improve motion and reduce pain.
Patients are seen on an inpatient or outpatient basis with a physician's order.

Pharmacy
Outpatient Pharmacy services are offered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patients requesting outpatient prescription services must first visit a financial counselor to establish eligibility. Eligible patients may present prescriptions written on Broadlawns Medical Center prescription blanks for processing.
Inpatient Pharmacy services are offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including 3 day outpatient prescriptions for patients of the emergency department.
Refills may be requested 24 hours a day by calling 515.282.2378.
Social Services
Broadlawns Medical Center provides assistance to individuals and families who are in need of social services. Services include discharge planning and referrals for housing, transportation, food pantries, utilities and medical supplies.

Patient and Guest Relations
Patients, families and visitors may voice concerns and grievances to the Patient Advocate. They can expect a prompt response and attempt at resolution.

Interpreters
Interpreters are available for several languages. Telephone interpreters are available for other languages. Interpreters may be requested by calling the hospital switchboard.

Spiritual Care Services
Spiritual care is at the heart of caring for each individual as a whole person. Tending to matters of the heart and spirit greatly benefit a person's sense of well-being when facing an illness, recovery and life changes.
Our staff chaplain and spiritual care volunteers provide support to anyone in need regardless of religious tradition. We meet each patient wherever they are in their life's journey. A patient or a patient's family member or friend may request to see the chaplain, or simply accept a visit when offered. Support is available when desired for:
- Private and confidential conversation
- Prayer
- Sacraments, anointing with oil, or other religious ritual
- Support when experiencing hopelessness, despair, doubt and uncertainty
- Assistance in exploring how your personal beliefs may be a resource for healing and well-being
- Support when experiencing a loss
- Help in searching for meaning and purpose in your life
- Information for contacting your own religious leader
- Support as you prepare for surgery or other medical procedures
- Someone to talk with after receiving a new diagnosis
- Help with specific requirements and needs based upon your religious beliefs
- Support in your own spiritual practices or faith tradition
Our chaplain is board certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains. Our chaplain volunteers have completed at least one unit of clinical pastoral education (CPE) and assist in providing on-call support at the time of death, emergency or trauma.
