Chairman - Frank Harrison

Mr. Harrison is a senior partner with the Hopkins & Huebner Law Firm. He will complete his second term December 2010. Mr. Harrison serves as chair of the Board Finance Committee. He also serves as Treasurer for the Broadlawns Medical Center Foundation.

Vice Chair - Janet Metcalf

Ms.Metcalf served nine terms in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing Urbandale, Clive, Grimes and Windsor Heights, until her retirement in 2002. She served as Chair of the following House Committees: Commerce and Regulation, State Government, Administrative Rules Review, and the Economic Development Appropriation Sub- committee. Ms. Metcalf will complete her current term as a Broadlawns trustee in December 2010.

Secretary - Mary Fuller

Ms. Fuller retired from the Des Moines Public Schools. She will finish her fourth term in December 2012. In addition she participates in Medical Center committee meetings and serves as a member of the Broadlawns Medical Center Foundation Board.

Treasurer - Paul Gillispie

Mr. Gillispie is a retired Des Moines Police lieutenant with 34 years of service. He is also a retired Senior Manager of Security/Guest Services at Southridge Mall. He was recently re-elected to his second term as a trustee, whcih will end in December 2008. In addition, he serves as a member of the Iowa Hospital Association Congress of Trustees and Broadlawns Medical Center Foundation Liaison.

Karen J. Ellis

Ms. Ellis is a member of the faculty at William Penn University’s College for Working Adults. She is also Director of the Human Resource Management Certificate program.  In addition, she works with the Mobile Crisis Response Team, which serves Polk County.  Ms. Ellis has worked in a variety of health care delivery settings.  She is also involved in international training and exchange programs and is active in global public diplomacy efforts.  Ms. Ellis was elected in 2006 to her first term that will end in December 2012.

Cynthia Gray

Serving her first term,  her term will expire in December 2008.

Jean Logan

Jean Logan, R.N., Ph.D. is a Professor of Nursing at Grand View College. Dr. Logan served as the president, president-elect, and secretary of the Iowa Association of Colleges of Nursing (IACN). Dr. Logan has also served as the Secretary of the Iowa Council of Nurses and as a member of the Iowa Healthcare Workforce Development Committee. Dr. Logan will complete her first term December 2010.
