IowaCare

IowaCare is administered by the State of Iowa Department of Human Services, not by Broadlawns. For more information, please call: 1-800-338-8366.

To qualify:

  • You must be an Iowa resident
  • You must be between the ages of 19 and 64 and/or pregnant with an income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level without other insurance coverage.
  • Individuals must pay a premium or claim hardship when they receive a notice each month.
  • Failure to pay the monthly premium or claim hardship may result in a discontinuation of IowaCare services.

Please note:

For Polk residents the IowaCare Program covers only limited services received at Broadlawns Medical Center, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and several Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
