SHIIP Counselor Available at Broadlawns

Des Moines, IA – September 26, 2012 – A popular, free program to help seniors understand Medicare is being made available at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. SHIIP, the Senior Health Insurance Information Program, provides informational materials as well as one-to-one assistance with questions and problems related to Medicare benefits.

Beginning October 3, Billie Wade, who completed the extensive training program conducted by the State of Iowa Insurance Division, will be available at Broadlawns on Wednesdays to answer questions such as –

What does Medicare cover and what is difference between Part A and Part B?
Where can I go to find answers about the Medicare prescription drug plans?
What is a Medicare Advantage Plan?
I’m turning 65—who can help me fill out paperwork?
Are mammograms covered by Medicare Part B?

As a SHIIP volunteer, and with the support of Broadlawns, Billie is able to provide informed, impartial information and guidance – for free.
