Seiler Named New Director of Pharmacy at Broadlawns

Des Moines, Oct 14, 2010 – David Seiler, PharmD, has been named director of pharmacy at Broadlawns Medical Center. 
A graduate of Dowling High school in West Des Moines, Seiler received his doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2000. After completing a residency in pediatric pharmacy in St. Petersburg, Fla, he was a pediatric clinical pharmacist in Tampa, Fla. Seiler returned to Des Moines in 2006 to take the position of director of pharmacy with Primary Health Care.
“We are pleased to have Dr. Seiler join the health care team at Broadlawns as head of the pharmacy operations,” said Vincent Mandracchia, DPM, MHA, chief medical officer at Broadlawns Medical Center. “His background and clinical experience bring a patient-centered approach that will advance our hospital pharmacy practice.”
Broadlawns Medical Center first opened its doors as a hospital to the residents of Polk County on April 13, 1924. Over the years, Broadlawns has adapted to the changing demands of public health care, yet remained true to its mission of offering quality health services to all Polk County residents and training tomorrow’s health care professionals. Today Broadlawns Medical Center is composed of:
- An acute care community hospital serving medical, surgical, mental health and primary care needs
- A 60-member physician practice overseeing numerous specialty clinics and outpatient services
- A Family Medicine Residency Program that graduates physician leaders who today serve in 22 of Iowa’s 99 counties
