Quality-Hospital Core Measures
November 14, 2008
Did You Know?
HOSPITAL PERFORMANCE, 2nd QUARTER 2007 THROUGH 1st QUARTER 2008
Broadlawns Medical Center participates in and is benchmarked by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on four hospital core measure sets, which are acute Myocardial Infarction, Heart Failure, Community Acquired Pneumonia, and Surgical Care Improvement Project. All four measures are reported to Joint Commission and CMS.
Broadlawns Medical Center continually strives to meet or exceed the state or national average on these quality measures. Although we have a small number of patients in each category, Broadlawns still scored equal to or higher for the aggregate four quarters than the state average on 17 out of 22 expanded set measures. When compared to the national scores, we scored equal to or higher for the aggregate four quarters than the national average on 17 out of 22 expanded set measures.
