The Therapist reports to the Clinical Director and provides outpatient behavioral health therapy to clients. The Therapist works in collaboration with other clinical staff and community support providers to provide high quality integrated services. Functions autonomously in providing therapy services to clients with a variety of acute and chronic mental health conditions. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient’s care team. Conducts intake assessments as assigned. Provides clinical consultation and educational programs to BMC staff and/or community agency program personnel as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Outpatient Behavioral Health
Generally Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Master’s Social Work degree from accredited educational institution. Current Social LMSW, LISW, LMHC, or LMFT license with State of Iowa. Knowledge in crisis intervention techniques and brief therapy. Ability to work cooperatively with a multi-disciplinary team. Clinical experience in evaluation/assessment and multi-axial diagnoses of adolescents and adults in various stages of the developmental cycle. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Reasonably able to de-escalate a client utilizing BMC-trained philosophies. Ability to complete electronic charting and documentation. Microsoft office experience. Valid Iowa Driver’s License.
