Director of Nursing - Emergency Department

Job Description

Position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer. The Nursing Director manages the operations of the Emergency Department and Trauma Services and coordinates all health care services required for an organized, multidisciplinary team approach to the care of the traumatically injured patient and other patients who are in need of emergency treatment. The Nursing Director is accountable to drive operational excellence in patient care delivery that results in positive fiscal management, improved services, quality care, patient satisfaction, and staff retention.

Qualifications

Graduate from accredited School of Nursing. Licensed in the State of Iowa as a Registered Nurse. Bachelor's degree in healthcare or management field. TNCC Provider. Five or more years in emergency/trauma nursing. Three or more years supervisory experience. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal and professional relationships at all levels. Advanced computer experience. Strong organizational skills. Posses a perspective that is broader than just one functional area and the proven ability to assume full responsibilities for more than one area.
