The Systems Engineer is accountable for requirements, design, implementation, operations, maintenance, and support of BMC's data center systems, software, data storage (SAN/NAS) and related technologies. Responsibilities include configuring all new datacenter server, system and data storage implementations, ensuring the availability of virtualization hosts, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the datacenter server. The Systems Engineer participates in project management activities, operating system evaluations, system capacity and performance assessments, security evaluations, automated monitoring/alerting, disaster recovery, and establishment of enterprise standards.
Generally Monday-Friday, 8am-5:00pm
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field and a minimum of 2 years Microsoft Windows Server Administration experience or an Associate degree and a minimum of 4 years Microsoft Windows Server Administration experience. Demonstrated experience working with datacenter technology. Understanding of risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity concepts to ensure continuous operations and contingency planning for datacenter servers and systems. Experience with automation software and scripting (shell scripts, vbscript, etc.).
