for Psychiatry Fellowship Program

Des Moines, IA (March 3, 2016) – Broadlawns Medical Center (BMC) announced today that it is establishing a Psychiatry Fellowship Program and is seeking applications from qualified Physician Assistants (PAs) and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners(ARNPs).

“There is a critical shortage of psychiatric providers in the state of Iowa,” said Janice Landy, M.D., Broadlawns Psychiatry Section Chief.  “By providing direct care training and observational experiences for advanced practice clinicians, we hope to address the growing need for qualified behavioral health providers.”

The one-year Psychiatry Fellowship Program will begin July 1, 2016.  Two qualified applicants with an active Iowa license will be selected to receive clinical training, supplemental didactics and supervision by Broadlawns’ experienced Psychiatry staff.  Upon successful completion of the Psychiatry Fellowship Program, fellows will receive a certificate of completion.
