Transitional Year Medicine Continuity Clinic: ½ day per week
Vacation - Transitional Year: Three weeks of vacation (Monday through Sunday) are scheduled for first-year residents.
Electives
During the Transitional Year Residency, residents spend 4 scheduling blocks in elective rotations in the areas of their special interest. Currently the program offers electives in: Adolescent Medicine, Anesthesia, Cardiology - CCU, Dental, Dermatology, Endocrine, Hematology/Oncology, ICU, Imaging Services, Inpatient Medicine, Interventional Pain Medicine, Nephrology, Neurology, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Ortho (Adult/Peds), Outpatient IM, Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, Physical Medicine, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Rheumatology, Sports Medicine, Surgery
Additional Certifications and Training
In addition to the required and elective rotations, Transitional Year Residents will participate in a series of procedural certifications and training opportunities throughout the residency program. These include: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation and Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advance Trauma Life Support.
