Jim earned his BBA in Accounting at the University of Alaska and followed in his father’s footsteps to become a Certified Public Accountant, receiving the Bronze Award for his CPA Exam performance.  His early accounting career led him to healthcare where he advanced through multiple roles, gaining exposure to clinic, nursing home, and hospital business models.

Jim has 14 years of accounting and finance experience, including seven years as a hospital CFO and an additional twelve years of healthcare executive leadership experience as CHRO/HR Director, COO, and CEO.  During this journey Jim studied integrated delivery systems at the University of Minnesota where he earned his Master of Healthcare Administration.  He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Society for Human Resource Management.  Through recognition of his work in Finance and HR, Mr. Lynch was appointed by the Governor of Alaska to the state Workforce Investment Board and served as Board Chair for five years.  In this role he partnered with constituents across the state to create a strategic workforce development plan for the healthcare industry.

Over the course of his experience, Jim acquired a deep passion for community-focused healthcare and serving the underserved. He looks forward to returning to the Midwest and leveraging his passion and experience to help the Broadlawns Medical Center team continue to build a strong future for the community.
