Foot and Ankle Clinic

The Foot and Ankle Clinic at Broadlawns Medical Center offers a full range of podiatric services for patients of all ages. We are devoted to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders related to the foot, ankle, and lower extremities. Addressing conditions with all levels of severity, our experienced staff can identify a course of treatment for you.

Using state-of-the-art technology combined with specialized care from our expert physicians, we will help you get back on your feet quickly.

Protecting and restoring mobility is our number one priority for those experiencing foot and ankle problems or for those with limited mobility due to arthritis, diabetes, or another condition.

Our staff of physicians is available in clinic five days a week and on-call for emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Amputation Prevention Center

The Amputation Prevention Center at Broadlawns is a center of excellence in Iowa. We are dedicated to treating patients with conditions that place the limb at risk for amputation. Our physicians specialize in treating lower extremity complications of diabetes.

Broadlawns Amputation Prevention Center provides outpatient and inpatient care for people with an at-risk limb.

The clinic utilizes the latest technologies and treatments including hydro scalpel, stem cell therapy, maggot application and negative pressure wound therapy. In addition, our surgeons have vast experience with Charcot foot reconstruction.

In cases where amputations are necessary to prevent the spread of infection, we concentrate on preserving as much function as possible to keep the patient active.

Wound Center

The Wound Center is a state-of-the-art practice that is dedicated to the healing of wounds and to limb salvage.  Our board certified physicians are well-versed in the most current techniques, treatments and products available.  We care for all types of lower extremity wounds from diabetic to venous, and we work closely with the Laser Vein Center on all vascular wounds.  We also offer non-invasive vascular testing to ensure that our patients have the needed blood supply to heal their wounds and to prevent new wounds from forming.

The Wound Center offers many advanced techniques to wound healing including all types of biological dressing.  We utilize many types of offloading techniques to help accelerate the healing process and prevent the return of the wound.  We use the most up-to-date conservative and surgical processes to prevent and treat any type of wound infection including bone infections. Advanced surgical reconstruction is also available for patients with foot deformities resulting from wounds both as a curative and as a preventative measure. Our top priority is ensuring the quality of life for our patients by identifying the quickest path to closure of their wound.

Clinic Hours

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Foot and Ankle Clinic is located on the Second Floor of the Medical Office Building on the western portion of the Broadlawns campus.
