Healthcare Reform
Coverage – What’s the Law?

The Affordable Care Act requires everyone legally living in the U.S. to have health insurance beginning January 1, 2014. If an individual did not get health insurance by March 31, 2014, there will be a new Open Enrollment period from November 15, 2014 to February 15, 2015. You can shop for plans by phone, through a broker, at on-site enrollment locations, or at the online Health Insurance Marketplace.

Healthcare Enrollment

Providing Access through Health Alliance

Broadlawns is a member of the University of Iowa Health Alliance made up of more than 50 hospitals and more than 160 physician clinics. That means you have access to a network of providers all across Iowa, eastern Nebraska and the Quad Cities (Illinois).

As a member, our patients can be included in health care coverage offered on the Iowa Health Insurance Exchange.

3 Key Points

When you shop the Marketplace, look for insurance plans that include Broadlawns Medical Center so you can use the full scope of this Health Alliance.

If you are enrolling in the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan, choose a primary care doctor at Broadlawns.

If you are enrolling in a commercial insurance, please confirm Broadlawns Medical Center is part of their network. It is highly likely we are, but again, please confirm.
