Why I Chose Broadlawns for My Residency
I chose Broadlawns because it provided an environment where I am able to learn and develop skills during my three years of training. Even as an intern, physicians and seniors treat you as a colleague. You are provided autonomy in your patient care, however if you ever need help this provides a great opportunity to learn and ask questions. Teaching is important and the physicians and faculty are passionate about it during your years of training. With the diverse and unique patient population and education focus on full spectrum medicine, I know that I will be a well-trained future family physician.
Hobbies
Disc golf and ultimate frisbee, but I also enjoy playing any sport in general. Video games, mostly League of Legends or family fun games on the switch. Board games (friendly game of UNO or Catan when I am feeling competitive).
Favorite Thing To Do in Des Moines
Disc golf, there are so many great courses in the area! I also enjoy going to the Farmer’s market and exploring the variety of breweries and restaurants available here.
