The staff has extensive experience working with patients facing dementia, osteoporosis, and other age-related considerations. Our emphasis is to improve an elderly patient's health,well-being and quality of life. Our experienced providers complete a comprehensive review of a patient's medical history, medications, nutritional plan, physical impairments, home environment and any other influences that contribute to overall health and well-being. We assist our patients with setting realistic healthcare objectives that can be achieved in a dignified and respectful manner. We are also available to assist with palliative care and developing a plan for addressing end-of-life issues.
Our team of board certified providers specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and osteopenia. We focus on minimizing bone loss, optimizing bone health and preventing fractures that are associated with osteoporosis.
A comprehensive osteoporosis treatment program includes a focus on good nutrition, exercise, and fall prevention. The most important nutrients that are needed to address osteoporosis are calcium and vitamin D. While calcium is the key to building healthy bones, the presence of vitamin D enables your bones to absorb calcium. Medications are sometimes prescribed to slow or stop bone loss, increase bone density and reduce the risk of fractures. Physical therapy can also improve overall bone health and prevent fractures. Our providers will assist you by identifying nutrient rich foods to incorporate within your diet and by developing a list of safe exercises that will promote healthy bones and minimize bone loss.
