Robotics

Robotic surgery allows surgeons to perform complex surgical tasks through tiny incisions using robotic technology. Robotic surgery is a form of laparoscopic or minimally invasive surgery that utilizes a robot to assist the surgeon in completing a procedure. This provides surgeons with better accuracy, flexibility and control. Broadlawns Surgery Department has two types of robotic surgery systems—Da Vinci and Mako.

Robotic Surgery Procedures

  • Bowel Resection
  • Gallbladder
  • Hernia Repair
  • Hip and Knee Replacement
  • Hysterectomy and other Gynecological Surgery
  • Kidney and Prostate Surgery

Benefits of Robotic Surgery

Compared to traditional open surgery, robotic surgery offers a number of benefits:

  • Smaller incisions, resulting in reduced risk of infection and bleeding
  • Faster recovery time and return to normal activities
  • Less scarring
  • Reduced pain and discomfort
