Broadlawns Medical Center is committed to providing clear information about the cost of care. In compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Price Transparency requirements, Broadlawns provides pricing information for more than 300 services and procedures, along with a complete list of our standard charges.
Prices may not reflect all costs associated with a service, and a single service may include multiple charges. Price lists are updated annually in July.

Because every insurance plan is different, your insurance provider can give you the most accurate information about your out-of-pocket costs. For your convenience, we provide links to several insurance plan websites. You may need to log in to access your personalized information.
No Insurance? We Can Help.
If you do not have insurance, our Financial Counseling team can help determine whether you qualify for federal, state or local programs. We can also help determine whether you are eligible for financial assistance through the Broadlawns Community Care Program. Payment plans are also available.
Compare Prices Among Healthcare Providers
The Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) provides an online tool that allows you to compare hospital charge information for inpatient services at Iowa hospitals.
Please keep in mind that the information provided through this tool is an estimate. A “charge” is the amount billed for a service. Charges are the same for all patients, but the amount you are responsible for may vary based on your insurance coverage and negotiated rates.
Professional fees for services provided by physicians and other healthcare professionals, including surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and anesthesia providers, are not included in these charges and may be billed separately.

About Your Healthcare Cost Estimate
Your Broadlawns Healthcare Cost Estimate is an estimate and is not a quote or guarantee of the amount you will owe. Based on your medical condition and the care determined necessary by your physician, your actual costs may be lower or higher than the estimate.
Your final cost may depend on several factors, including the length of time spent in surgery or recovery, the number of days spent in the hospital, specific equipment, supplies and medications required, additional tests ordered by your physician, unexpected conditions or complications that require additional care, and other factors.
If you request an estimate for a surgical procedure, the estimate does not include pre-procedure office visits, post-procedure office visits or diagnostic testing.
