Current Projects and Fundraising Initiatives

The Broadlawns Medical Center Foundation is committed to raising community awareness and financial support for Broadlawns Medical Center.  As the community hospital, we are dedicated to serving the most vulnerable populations and providing access to high quality healthcare to the underserved and at-risk individuals within our community.

The Broadlawns Medical Center Foundation is currently focused on securing funding for two major initiatives that will enhance our facilities and expand our servicing capacity,

Disaster Relief Fund

As the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, the Broadlawns medical team quickly mobilized to ensure that we were prepared to attend to the escalating healthcare needs of our community. The Broadlawns Disaster Fund was established to ensure that financial resources are available to offset the purchase of PPE (masks, gowns, face shields) needed to appropriately equip our medical staff. The fund will also support the investment in technology which has allowed us to transition many of our primary care and mental health appointments to virtual care.

Family Birthing Center

Donate to this project

Broadlawns Medical Center is constructing a new Family Birthing Center to provide an enhanced environment for our delivering mothers and their newborn babies. All of the LDRP {labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum} patient suites will be equipped with new furnishings and updated medical equipment. The C-Section operating suite will provide a state-of-the-art environment for surgical deliveries. The healthy baby and isolation nurseries are designed to provide exemplary care, and the nursing station and medical staff areas are configured to optimize patient care. The existing Family Birthing Center unit has not undergone a structural remodel since the unit opened in 1991. The new Family Birthing Center will better accommodate patients and visitors in a medically current environment. The Family Birthing Center construction commenced in the fall of 2018 with an anticipated completion date of summer 2020.

Family Medicine Residency Housing

Donate to this project

For alumni of the Broadlawns Family Medicine Residency program, the onsite housing brings back fond memories of friendship, fellowship and support. The apartments were your home during the three years that you spent training at Broadlawns prior to embarking upon your career in medicine.

Broadlawns removed the outdated residency residency housing units that were in dire need of replacement. In August of 2016, Broadlawns Medical Center completed construction of one of two proposed residency apartment buildings. There are fifteen units within the new residency housing building. Fundraising for the second building is still underway as the goal is to once again house all of the residents onsite so that there is ease of access to the medical campus and its emergency department, urgent care clinic and ob/gyn services during residency training.
