IRA Rollover Gift
A special opportunity for those 70½ years old and older.
Make a difference today and save on taxes by giving any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as the Broadlawns Medical Center Foundation. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short. Beginning in the year you turn 72, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD). You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions. Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax. Contact your financial advisor or log in to your IRA provider’s website to make a direct distribution today.
To ensure your gift reaches us, please use our legal name and federal tax ID.

Stock Gifts
Donating appreciated shares of marketable securities like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds is an attractive, tax-wise alternative to a cash contribution. For more information, please email foundation@broadlawns.org or call (515) 282-3919.
Matching Gifts
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Employer matches sometimes even double or triple the impact of your donation. If your employer offers a matching gift program, please consider maximizing your donation by following your organization's matching gift process.
