Transporter Services are available Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 4:30 pm, for building-to-building transportation and wheelchair assistance. To request assistance, please call:
All service animals must be under the care and direction of the owner or a family member at all times. Service animals must be trained, non-disruptive to others, housebroken, on a leash or halter and have current vaccination/health records available. Service animals needed during a hospital stay may require a provider’s order. Please contact us at (515) 282-4736 in advance of your appointment to make arrangements regarding the need of a service animal to ensure proper accommodations.

The cafeteria is open for visitors, patients, and Broadlawns staff. The cafeteria is open 365 days a year with no variation on holidays or weekends.
The grill is open:
Monday – Friday: 6:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.; 10:45 a.m. – 2:15 a.m.
Saturday – Sunday: 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Meals are served 7 days a week:
Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Lunch: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Freedom Blend Coffee
Location: Sands Building, First Floor
Freedom Blend Coffee is locally owned and operated by the nonprofit Freedom for Youth. The organization offers employment training opportunities to young adults from our neighborhood. The Freedom Blend Coffee shop opened inside of the hospital recently, and we are excited to partner with a local, mission-based coffee shop that offers beverages and snack options for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Spiritual care is at the heart of caring for each individual. Tending to matters of the heart and spirit greatly benefit a person's sense of well-being when facing an illness, recovery and life changes.
Our staff chaplain and spiritual care volunteers provide support to anyone in need regardless of religious tradition. A patient, patient's family member, or friend may request to see the chaplain, or simply accept a visit when offered. Our spiritual care team is available for:
Private and confidential conversation
Sacraments, anointing with oil, or other religious ritual
Support when experiencing hopelessness, despair, doubt, and uncertainty
Assistance in exploring how your personal beliefs may be a resource for healing and well-being
Support when experiencing a loss
Help in searching for meaning and purpose in your life
Information for contacting your own religious leader
Support as you prepare for surgery or other medical procedures
Someone to talk with after receiving a new diagnosis
Help with specific requirements and needs based upon your religious beliefs
Support in your own spiritual practices or faith tradition
Our chaplain is board certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains. Our chaplain volunteers have completed at least one unit of clinical pastoral education (CPE) and assist in providing on-call support at the time of death, emergency, or trauma.
