Broadlawns Announces Tony Coleman as President and Chief Executive Officer Press Release October 21, 2021 Des Moines, Iowa (October 21, 2021) – Broadlawns Medical Center (BMC) announced today that Anthony (Tony) Coleman will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization effective December 6, 2021. “After conducting a national search, Tony Coleman was unanimously chosen by the board of trustees to serve as the next President and CEO for Broadlawns,” said J. Marc Ward, Chairman of the BMC Board of Trustees. “Throughout the interview process, Dr. Coleman demonstrated exceptional leadership, financial acumen and a genuine dedication to fulfilling Broadlawns’ mission of service to our community. We very much look forward to his arrival and are confident that he will be a tremendous leader for Broadlawns and the Polk County community.” Dr. Coleman joins BMC having most recently served as Vice President of Operations Support and Assistant Hospital Administrator for Kaiser Permanente’s largest and fastest growing service area in San Bernardino, California. Dr. Coleman’s prior leadership experience includes healthcare administration roles as a Naval Officer, COO and CFO during his twenty-years of service in the United States Navy.
