Why I chose Broadlawns for my Residency
My favorite part about BMC is our teachers/ faculty. We are surrounded by some of the most caring, compassionate, intelligent physicians and clinicians in the city (country?). They are so focused on making sure we are exposed to good cases and are prepared for the “real world”. I’m so thankful to be training in a place where I’m not just another workhorse, but a member of the team. The residents are also a big bonus- they become your family, your close friends, and it’s so fun to grow together during our time at BMC!
Hobbies
I love running, walking, trying new restaurants, time with my husband, family and friends, and most recently stripping wallpaper off of our new house.
Special Interests
Educating women and children, and walking with them through pregnancy, delivery, and the postpartum period.
Favorite Thing To Do in Des Moines
All the festivals that the city hosts! (International food fair, Celebrasian, farmer’s market, etc). I also love all the trails (High Trestle Bridge at night, Raccoon River Park, Gray’s Lake).
