Why I chose Broadlawns for my residency?

Broadlawns was my top choice residency program. I rotated here as a medical student and was extremely impressed by the comprehensive full-spectrum Family Medicine training at Broadlawns as an unopposed program. Family medicine residents run all the services in the hospital, including L&D, which is of particular interest to me. Additionally, the residents and faculty are very teaching-oriented and approachable, and I knew I’d feel well supported here as I navigate my new role as a doctor. Finally, as a new mother who was breastfeeding and pumping during my rotation, the program was extremely accommodating and supportive. This, accompanied by the fact that many of the residents are parents and/or have had children during residency, made me feel like Broadlawns would be a good fit for me, and the type of environment I wish to train in.

Hobbies

Trying new foods and finding new restaurants, traveling, learning new languages – I am fluent in Hebrew and English, studied Arabic for 8 years, and currently learning Spanish.
