Why I chose Broadlawns for my Residency
There are so many reasons I love training at BMC. The residents have a great time training together and hanging out when we aren’t working. We get to learn from the specialists in their respective fields so we can be the best well-rounded family medicine doctors. Everyone from staff to residents to attendings are supportive and care about our education and future career goals. We also get a lot of great autonomy at Broadlawns. I love being able to live on campus as well, which is another unique aspect of the Broadlawns experience.
Hobbies
Outside of medicine, I enjoy hanging out with my 2 nieces (soon to be 3) and 1 nephew. I also love going to Iowa State football games. I love travelling to new places. Spending time with my family and friends is also really important to me. I also enjoy trying new restaurants with my fiancé.
Favorite Thing To Do in Des Moines
Technically Ames, but my favorite thing is going to Jack Trice on a wonderful fall day to watch Iowa State Football or doing bonfires with friends. My favorite restaurants in Des Moines are Fong’s Pizza or Latin King.
