Why I Chose My Field
Mental health not only impacts our overall physical health, but the way we interact with others, build relationships, develop trust, and find value in ourselves. I chose to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner to help people better understand their mental health and to reduce the stigma associated with mental health treatment. I love helping people improve their lives, based on the goals and outcomes they want to achieve.
