How to Apply

All positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

Applications are accepted and received through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).

Consideration for application shall not be unlawfully influenced or affected by virtue of applicant’s race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, mental or physical disability unrelated to ability to perform the duties of the residency or any other characteristic protected by law.

1. All potential applicants should be either anticipated graduates or graduates of a medical school approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or the American Osteopathic Association, Education Division.

2. Any applicant who is a graduate of a non-LCME approved medical school, must be enrolled in or will have completed a 12-month PGY I position in a training program approved by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and must have received a 12-month residency completion certificate. (Preference will be given to those completing PGY I training in a Transitional Year Program, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics or General Surgery residency program.)

3. Graduates of LCME or AOA approved programs must have taken and passed Part II prior to graduating medical school to be considered for the Family Medicine and/or Transitional Year Residency program.

4. If an applicant has not passed any part of the USMLE within three (3) attempts no further consideration will be given to their application.

5. A maximum of five (5) years from graduation to application is preferred.

6. All applicants must be interviewed to be ranked.

7. No response will be made to out-of-country inquiries.

Foreign Medical Graduates:

1. You must have your ECFMG certificate and have completed one year at a U.S. Accredited Residency Program. This must be a hands-on clinical experience.

2. Research fellowships, externships and volunteering are not acceptable substitutes in place of a one year ACGME approved residency.(Preference will be given to those completing PGY I training in a Transitional Year Program, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics or General Surgery residency program.)

3. Foreign Medical Graduates must have a score satisfactory to the GMEC on the USMLE examination to be considered for the Family Medicine Residency and/or Transitional Year programs. All applicants must have successfully completed both Parts I and II of the USMLE examination.

4. Due to fiscal restraints we will only be able to consider J1 Visas.

4. Three (3) Letters of Reference - the authenticity of which must be acceptable to the Residency Program Director.

  • A minimum of three (3) reference letters plus a Dean's letter (MSPE) and/or Program Director's letter must accompany each application.

  • The authenticity of all reference letters must be acceptable to the Residency Program Director and must be received directly from the reference source or ERAS.
