How Broadlawns Supports Education and Skill Building

Broadlawns Medical Center is committed to offering tools that help individuals grow personally and professionally. By working with trusted partners across the community, we're opening doors to healthcare careers and offering support to help people succeed.

Current programs include:

  • TECH (Training and Education for a Career in Healthcare): A program designed for high school students who may face hurdles to employment. Participants receive Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training to prepare for entry-level roles in healthcare.
  • TEACH (Training and Education for Adults): Tailored for adults looking to restart or build a career in healthcare. Offers both basic and advanced CNA training, plus guidance on next steps in the field.
  • Registered Nurse Apprenticeship Program: Iowa’s first registered nursing apprenticeship. This multi-year program combines classroom learning, on-the-job experience, and mentoring. Tuition assistance is available through our partnership with DMACC.
  • Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Program: A two-to-three-year pathway into behavioral health careers, combining hands-on training with classroom education. Supported by Iowa Workforce Development.
